Fakim Wildlife Sanctuary is well known for its rich biodiversity. Also, it is one of the famous Wildlife Sanctuaries in Nagaland. It is recognized as a wildlife sanctuary in 1983. The sanctuary stretched over an area of 642 hectares. Location of the sanctuary, close proximity to Myanmar (Burma) border in the Pungro circle headquarter in Nagaland. It is a paradise for animal lovers, bird watchers, shutterbugs and nature lovers.

One could find orchids, ferns, cinnamon trees in vast numbers. The sanctuary also boasts several rare plant species which can’t be found elsewhere.

The nearest railway station to the sanctuary is located at Dimapur. It has direct trains to Guwahati and is well- connected to various parts of the world. 

By Road:

The tourist can take either bus or taxi in order to travel between Fakim Wildlife Sanctuary and several tourist destinations in Nagaland.
